The FINAL REPORT from the Steering Committee
for the 2023 “New to YOU” Rummage Sale,
……..but first our THANK YOUs!
We begin with giving thanks to God for God’s gift of this home we call Earth and all its bounty, and for one another! And this year in particular for the beautiful weather we had for the sale.
And from God’s bounty…….
THANK YOU… TO ALL THE MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF OUR NEW PARISH FAMILY AND GREATER ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY WHO DONATED ITEMS FOR THE RUMMAGE SALE. …Without your ‘precious treasures’ there would not have been anything to sell!
THANK YOU…TO OUR AWESOME PARISH STAFF AND ORGANIZATIONS
Father Aaron, Father Bommarito, Deacon Dana, Deacon Joe, and Deacon Jim, Debbie, Heather, Kevin, Karen, Stephanie, and Bridget, all our Rectory Volunteers, the Ladies’ Sodality, Mr. Ebert and the Boy Scouts and their parents and siblings, and the Saint Vincent de Paul Society…Your example of service, on-going support, guidance, patience, and flexibility are without equal. We hope you know how much you are appreciated for all that you do for our entire parish family and the greater St. Louis community.
THANK YOU… TO ALL OUR FAITHFUL PARISH VOLUNTEERS …For your creative ideas and initiatives, for your resilience in collecting, huffing, toting, sorting and, pricing all of our treasures, for taking on whatever tasks you saw needed to be accomplished or were asked to do, for your wonderful customer service! And finally, for that last burst of energy in an effort to leave the IHM campus and buildings in pre-sale condition!
We would love to mention each of you by name, but are a bit limited by our bulletin space. We hope you know how much you are truly appreciated because without YOU, your smiles, and positive energy, this event could not have happened.
THANK YOU…TO SOME SPECIAL NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY…Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Zapf, again, for their frequent visits and special home-made baked goods and kind words for all the rummage sale workers. A Printing. Inc. for their help in making our signs “a go” for the 10th time, St. Cecilia’s parish for the use of their tables, Schnucks for the donation of paper bags for our $2.00 a bag Sunday sale, Eddie’s Doughnut Shop for providing some free and discounted sweet treats, friends from St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church and our young and energetic volunteers from Bishop DuBourg, St. Mary’s, Vianney and Oakville High Schools who came and helped sort, set-up and sale items, and for the ‘Holy Haulers’ who will be coming in the next weeks to take all our remaining items to St. Vincent de Paul and other new homes. And finally for the surrounding churches, neighbors, friends and family for sharing news of the sale by putting up flyers, taking yard signs, advertising the sale in their parish publications and on their Facebook accounts, through neighborhood cyber groups and by word-of-mouth, and especially for those individuals who came the day of the sale to work, visit and shop. And to everyone for their prayers that the rummage sale would be a success for our ‘new and improved’ parish family.
THANK YOU…TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS… Obviously, none of this could have happened without your participation! We hope you found some useful items. To our returning customers….it was nice to see you again! We hope you have a blessed year, and please consider joining us for other fun events, and especially Sunday mass.
And now for our first tally (other monies may come trickling in) ………………………………… DRUM ROLL, PLEASE…..$14,586.45
With all our gratitude and respect,
