Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School.
Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend. As of this writing, we are about roughly 18 hours into Fall. I am very excited about the change of season and the break in the weather (I hope it sticks around for a while!). We had an exciting green milestone take place this afternoon. When the pandemic first hit, we were challenged to do things differently at SSP. For example, in some of our larger classrooms, where social distancing could not be maintained, we adopted plexiglass room dividers. Last week, the remainder of these were removed. We also retrofitted our drinking fountains with water bottle refill stations. A fringe benefit of these allowed us to minimize the number of plastic water bottles being added to landfills. Today, our main floor water station, suggested we saved 20,000 bottles from landfills. Archie Foizey and Sean Finney happened to be at the station when that milestone was reached. (Big sister, Molly Finney was there for 19,999!)
Most of our standardized testing was completed today. We have a couple of days to get students caught up before shipping the test off for scanning and evaluation. Thank you for your part in minimizing morning appointments, and having students at school on time, well-fueled, and ready to test! There are benefits to this preparation all school year long. Know that we appreciate all that you do as the primary educators of your children and your unwavering support of the school.
