1767 Founding of Carondelet and a Catholic Mission. Present Church site set aside for church purposes. (Holly Hills - Minnesota)

1778 Birth of Felix de Andreis.
1789 George Washington becomes U. S. President.
1793 Catholicism banned in France (French Revolution).
1793 Spain gives U. S. right to navigate Mississippi River.
1808 U. S. prohibits importation of Slaves from Africa.
1818 Bishop William DuBourg arrives in St. Louis from New Orleans with Father Joseph Rosati and Father Felix de Andreis.
1818 Father Felix de Andreis places first post for log Chapel on church site and dedicates it to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
1820 Father Felix de Andreis dies. Cause for beatification now pending.
1820 Missouri becomes a State.
1821 Oldest written baptismal record in French.
1825 Oldest written marriage record in French.
1826 Diocese of St. Louis - Bishop Joseph Rosati.
1832 First resident pastor - Father Edmund Saulnier.
1835 First stone church built by Father Saulnier and dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph of the Angels.
1836 Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyons, France arrive in Carondelet. (Now Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet)
1841 Parish church dedicated simply to Sts. Mary and Joseph.
1842 Father James Fontbonne, Pastor.
1845 Father Anthony Thibaudier, Pastor.
1846 Father George Orthieb, Pastor.
1847 Archdiocese of St. Louis, Archbishop Peter Richard Kenrick.
1848 Kulturkamp in Germany - Famine in Ireland.
1852 Father James Stehle, Pastor.
1858 All records until this year were written in French, when they were written in Latin.
1860 Germans start their own parish of St. Boniface.
